Established in 1940, The Poly Post stands as Cal Poly Pomona’s student-operated newspaper, delivering comprehensive coverage relevant to both campus and local communities. With a readership encompassing over 28,000 students and approximately 2,400 faculty and staff members, the publication plays a crucial role in disseminating information.

As an independent entity, The Poly Post relies predominantly on advertising revenue and university funding to sustain its operations. Each semester, a dedicated team of student journalists contributes to the publication's mission by providing news through various mediums, including print, web, a newsletter, and a mobile app, all distributed every Tuesday.

Beyond its function as a news provider, The Poly Post serves as an experiential learning environment for students pursuing careers in multimedia journalism. This initiative aligns with the university’s polytechnic ethos of “learn by doing,” allowing students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings.
